So I am having a problem with my PC which I was recommended I try doing this:

That happens to be the exact same problem I have with my computer. I have followed every single step down to a T and I am almost done but when I click on the links that are to help me change my windows HOSTS I can’t do it. I doownloaded the hosts-perm.bat thing and nothing happened. Then I clicked on the link to download the proper host for my windoews 7 and again nothing happened. I don’t know what else to do. This is the last step that I am trying to do and am unable to::
To fix these permissions please download the following batch file and save it to your desktop:
hosts-perm.bat Download Link
When the file has finished downloading, double-click on the hosts-perm.bat file that is now on your desktop. If Windows asks if you if you are sure you want to run it, please allow it to run. Once it starts you will see a small black window that opens and then quickly goes away. This is normal and is nothing to be worried about. You should now be able to access your HOSTS file.
23.We now need to delete the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\HOSTS file. Once it is deleted, download the following HOSTS file that corresponds to your version of Windows and save it in the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc folder. YOu know if you put in Microsoft .hosts for a google search,you will get the m icrosoft link for that repair. It might be easier
